To verify your identity, you need to provide a valid proof of address. Here are some guidelines to help you capture an in-date and acceptable copy of your identity document.
To provide a copy of your proof of address, check that:
All four corners of the document are visible.
The document has been issued in the last three months.
All details are fully legible
The document is addressed to you with your full name.
You must scan or take a photograph of the document. Digital files are not accepted. Mobile phone bills cannot be accepted as proof of address.
All address documents must be dated within the last three (3) months and meet the required guidelines.
Accepted documents
The document types that can be accepted as proof of address are:
Utility bill (gas, electricity, water, or internet bill for the current billing period)
Landline (telephone) bill (mobile phone bills are not acceptable)
TV, satellite, or cable bill dated within the last three (3) months
Bank, Building Society, Credit Union, or Credit Card statement (show your recent transactions) dated within the last 3 months
Mortgage statement from a recognised lender (dated within the last 12 months)
Life assurance/life insurance policy, dated within the last three (3) months but outside of cancellation period
A local council tax bill for the current billing/fiscal year
EU/EEA / Swiss / UK Tax & Customs Authority Declarations dated within the last three (3) months. Your form must include your personal identification details and address. For customers in Netherlands Belastingdienst M 2021 form is acceptable
Current Tenancy Agreement, from a local council or a recognised letting agency
Home or Motor insurance certificate, valid for the current year but outside of the cancellation period β we cannot accept cover notes
Certificate of Residency from Germany and Austria (current copy is sufficient)
A valid driving licence (Photocard) β This document can only be accepted if not already provided for identity verification purposes.
